A pink squier vista musicmaster bass1/17/2024 ![]() ![]() Comes with a cheap-but-functional gig bag, and I've got a box so shipping should be doable. Price is what I paid for it 3 months ago, not including the cost of the new nut or strings. It sounds very meaty, not what I expected from a short scale, with a lot of P Bass-style clank with the tone open. Wiring all works and has the Vista Tone pickup, though the VT logo on the pickup was a bit damaged so I removed it altogether for a cleaner look. I re-strung it with a set of medium scale D'Addario Chromes so that they fit through the body. When it arrived it was pretty grubby and had a broken nut, so I stripped it, cleaned all the hardware, and shielded the cavities, and had a new nut made for it at Strung Out in Glasgow, who also gave the frets a good polish while they were at it. The pickguard has also aged but must have had a sticker on it at some point as the shadow of it is still there. The top coat has clearly yellowed over the years and is now a much deeper colour of pink. ![]() It's in excellent condition overall, with just one small chip on the rear side, and some light surface scratches on the back, but is very clean on the front. Made in China for a year in around 1996, so 26 years old now. I bought this back in June after having wanted one for years, but the 30" scale just isn't for me. Frets have very little wear, 9/10 for fret life left. The front is pretty clean, just some dimples up from the pickup and in the shoulder area and some normal play scratches on the top horn. Later on at the end of the Vista Series run, a 24 3/4' scale guitar counterpart would be released as well. The sides have a few marks: dimples on the top horn, scuffs on the shoulder, some scuffs and a graze near the rear strap pin, a few dimples and scuffs near the jack and on the bottom horn. Around 1997-98, Squier reissued the Musicmaster bass as part of their 'Vista Series' line of guitars. The back is pretty clean, just some scuffs around the bottom, back and top edges. The neck is pretty clean and feels smooth, just some minor dimples. I have included pictures of the three small nicks in the. All of the hardware is original, including the Vista Tone pickup. Part of the Vista series made for a very short time during the 90's. The headstock has some minor marks on the end and bottom edge. Excellent reissue of the classic Musicmaster 30' short-scale bass. The shell pink finish is extremely tasty it's got done serious fading and has yellowed to a peachy hue that's dripping with charm and style. really you just pick up and play everything is easy. This is lightweight, sports a delightfully slim little neck and some no-fuss electronics.
